Who do you work with?

I work with adults, couples, teens, children, and their families.

The people that come to me for help are folks who have gotten a flat on the road toward fulfillment, whether the problem stems from relationships, family, school, or work.  Most people I see are successful people, looking to get past challenges, and take their enjoyment of life to the next level.  People willing to work through old patterns inherited from family, society, and past experience are often the ones able to create lasting fulfillment in relationships, careers, and within themselves.

Many of the people that I have helped were experiencing:

-relationship challenges such as difficulty with intimacy, feeling unseen, unloved, or insecure in relationships

or going through a difficult life transition that is bringing up thoughts and feelings of:

-being trapped- anxiety- sadness- lack of groundedness- anger- frustration- hopelessness-isolation

-old patterns from unprocessed trauma or intergenerational family issues

or all of the above.

Many people are experiencing something new emerging in their life, are faced with difficult choices, and are interested in the mindfulness and attachment approach that I utilize.

What if I don’t have insurance and I can’t afford your rates?

I offer a limited amount of sliding scale openings.  The fee per session can be as low as $70 per hour, depending on your income and number of dependents in your household.  Call to see if there are openings and if you qualify.

What form of payment do you take?

I accept cash, checks, and credit card at the beginning of each session. I offer a $5 discount for check payment.

Do you accept insurance?

I accept First Choice Health Network Insurance (FCHN), Group Health Options PPO (all group health plans except Core), some Cigna plans, and Regence

Out of Network reimbursement:

If you have insurance that I am not in network with:

Check to see if you have an out of network deductible.

Services may be covered between 50%-100% by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. You will be responsible for covering the agreed upon rate at the beginning of each session.  I will supply you with a receipt that has all the required information so that your insurance plan will reimburse whatever you are covered for.  If you are covered by insurance, your ultimate costs per session will probably be between $20 and $60, though many plans are different.

You can check your out of network provider terms by asking the following questions of your insurance company:

What is my deductible (in network and out of network) and has it been met?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?
What is the “allowed amount” per therapy session?
Is approval required from my primary care physician or prior to starting therapy?

How do I get reimbursed by my insurance company?

Different plans have different procedures for reimbursing counseling.  Call your insurance company before the first session and determine your reimbursement percentage and deductible. The insurance policy phone number is on your insurance card.  Ask the questions listed above.
